Heavy Core

The dense block found only in trial chambers, and the one material that exists to be heavy. It's about three times as dense as iron, very hard and brittle, and it can't be melted in any vessel in the game. So it is found, never made, and it can't be hammered, drawn or machined.

Its only use is whole, as the head of a mace (a head and two handles, put together at the Tool Table; see Tools and Weapons).

A mace hits with its fall: the damage grows with how far you drop, and with how heavy the head is. A heavy core is the full mace. A block of iron on a mace works, but it's much lighter and hits much softer. The head is also a lot to hang on a handle: put it on an ordinary stick and the joint works loose at once. The mace's own shaft, a Breeze Rod, is strong enough to carry it.
