Feedback Wiki
Feedback is a tech-themed total conversion of Minecraft. Its core idea is that machines don't know when the job is done: a hammer keeps hammering after your plate is finished, a crucible keeps heating after your steel is ready, and whatever is being worked on keeps changing. Measuring, timing and controlling your machines so they stop at the right moment is the game.
Around that idea the mod rebuilds the rest of Minecraft out of physical properties: every tool, weapon, shield, bow, piece of armour and gun is assembled from parts, and what it does comes from the materials; vehicles are real physics bodies you build; fighting has parries, rolls, kicks, grabs and a skill tree; and hot metal, steam and bare wire can hurt you. Nothing is keyed on an item's name, and nothing is locked behind a tier.
New here? Start with Metalworking, then Heat. Want to fight? See Combat.
Recently added
- Dough: wheat and water, kneaded by hand at the Prep Table by pressing and resting (the dough's wetness, fibre and fat change the feel), baked into a loaf; flatbread is the container of the new Wrap dish
- Prep Table: put a ceramic bowl and foods together into a dish; the bowl caps the meal, one raw part taints it, toxin is diluted by the rest
- Ore Deposits: galena, pyrite and kaolinite now grow in the ground; the welder, pivot setter, data connector, ingot mold, lift, chassis frame, damper and car design stand all have crafting recipes
- Ore Deposits: vanilla's coal, iron, copper and gold no longer generate; Feedback's own ores take their place, with the same drops
- Graphite Ore: a soft black mineral seam in stone and deepslate, the early source of graphite
- Combat: swept melee hits, parry, roll, kick, grab and off-hand weapons, with an impact feel; a skill tree of techniques; Combat Gear in new Curios slots; the Grapple; and the Feedbacker gauntlet that punches projectiles back
- Material Perks: silver smites the undead, blaze rods set things alight, lead poisons, slime bounces. Silver is a new metal
- Guns can be swung as a bludgeon (gun-fu) and light ones fired one-handed; Haste now speeds the mod's own timers
- Vehicles: steered hinges, hub brakes and the frame as a controllable part (untested in play)
- Firebox: fuel is now read off what an item is made of: planks burn a quarter as long as a log, nether stems don't burn
- Tool Table: where every tool, weapon, shield, bow and piece of armour is made: shape parts (forged ones are played as a rhythm), assemble from six slots, mend, swap and take apart.
- Blueprint Table: draw a tool or armour piece and read its figures before you make it. Tools now take shaped parts, set-in tips and studs, plating, and edges reground at a grindstone
- Radiation and Uranium: a deep ore whose metal makes you ill if you carry too much of it; a Geiger Counter clicks louder as you near it
- Tools and Weapons and Armour: every tool, weapon, shield, bow and piece of armour is now assembled from parts, and what it does comes from the materials. Vanilla's are converted. Plus the Heavy Core, the Balance Scale and the Scratch File Set
- Hazards: hot work burns bare hands, shut boilers weep and burst, bare wire shocks. Gloves and tongs protect you
- Boilers now build pressure; blocks in unloaded chunks catch up when you return
- Dynamo and Motor: shafts to electricity and back; voltage conversion
- Electrolytic Cell: refining and electroplating
- Mass Probe · Geiger Counter: a crystal that reads how much metal the cell is plating
- Heating Coil, Leyden Jar, Breaker, Fuse, Redstone Coherer, Cat's Whisker Detector, Relay
- Trace Board, Solder, Soldering Iron, Reflow Oven: boards with joints that are only as good as the heat they got; Basic Electronic Circuit: what mounted parts on a board make
- Component Tester, Oscilloscope and Phosphor Screen: see what the parts are doing
- Condenser and Pump: close the steam loop
- Flywheel
- Guns are now built from machined parts: four variants, six actions, revolvers, tubes, belts, shotguns and shot, fittings, and armour-piercing
- Round Charger: electric coilgun rounds
- Controller can read its switches back; new OR and Math cards
- Vehicles: tires, a driven drivetrain and the Driver's Seat (experimental)
- Electromagnet: the first electrical machine
- Coilgun and blended ammunition with tracer and incendiary payloads
- Galvanometer, Electroscope, Current Sensor
- Galvanic Cell and Electrostatic Generator
- Copper Cable and Electricity
- Gun heat, handling and penetration
- Guns, the Gun Table and the Reloading Press
- Valve now works on steam
- Overspeed Trip
- Refractory Lining
- The Nether's air is now hotter
- Engines and Vehicles (early)
Systems
- Metalworking: work, hardness, overrun and wear
- Materials: metals and their forms
- Rotation: shafts, power and gearing
- Heat: fires, vessels, processes
- Electricity: volts, amps, and what happens when you get them wrong

A few things worth knowing
- Instruments work from your inventory. Carry Calipers, a Balance Scale, a Thermometer, an Electroscope or a Galvanometer and Jade and tooltips show exact figures instead of words.
- What you need is always shown exactly; what you have costs an instrument. JEI and tooltips give requirements as hard numbers. The state of your machine is words until you measure it.
- Machines only wear when misused. A correctly built line never wears out. If something is worn, you did something specific to it. The exceptions are things that are consumed by nature: the Hand Hammer, the Grinding Wheel's grit and a Fuse wire. And two things can be destroyed outright, only by a mistake left unfixed: overloaded cable and an over-pressured boiler.
- Nothing is locked. There are no tiers. If you can reach the temperature, strength or hardness, you can do it, even if it's unreliable at first.
