Drying Rack

A rack that dries food slowly. Right-click with a food to hang one (it holds four); right-click empty-handed to take the last one back. Dried food feeds less but keeps much longer, since spoilage runs with how wet the food is.

  • Drying is faster in warmer air. A fire under the rack warms it, but only up to the edge of cooking: it dries, it does not cook.
  • Rain on an open rack stops the drying. Put it under a roof.
  • A raw food dried this way is still raw inside. Cook it before you eat it, or accept what is in it.

Recipe: seven sticks.
