Galvanometer
A needle that swings when current runs through it. It tells you how much current is actually flowing through an electrical block.

W is Copper Wire, N is an Iron Nugget and G is a Glass Pane.
Using it
- Right-click any electrical block to read the current on your action bar, e.g. "Galvanometer: 1.00 A". It reads in steps of 0.25 A.
- On a machine, it shows what the machine is getting next to what it wants, e.g. "0.50 of 1.00 A". That's the quickest way to tell a starved machine from one that's simply weak.
- Carry it anywhere in your inventory and Jade's tooltip on electrical blocks gains an amps line.
Reading a live cable is free and safe, as long as it's still insulated. Right-clicking bare live cable is a hand on the wire and shocks you. Nothing has to stop while you measure.
What it's good for
- Finding which cable on a busy line is carrying the most (and so is about to overheat).
- Checking whether adding another Galvanic Cell actually helped.
- Working out why a magnet is weak: low amps means not enough supply, while full amps on a weak magnet means the voltage is the problem (long run). Check that with an Electroscope.
